LookSmart Alterations bestowed prestigious awards

Abraham Hatoum, Managing Director of LookSmart Alterations, was awarded the 2010 Ethnic Business Award in the large business category for personal and business endurance through hardship, success and contributions to the community.  The Ethnic Business Awards is Australia’s most prestigious event amongst the ethnic business community.  The gala event and awards ceremony was held on the 7th of November in Perth, Western Australia.

When asked about the success of LookSmart Alterations, Mr Hatoum said “By its very nature, a franchise system’s success depends on the sum of many parts.  I wholeheartedly thank the many hardworking LookSmart franchise owners.  The company’s growth would not have been possible without your belief, dedication and exceptional work”.

Further commenting on his award, Mr Hatoum said “I am motivated by a strong desire to share my story with the hopes that my journey will inspire other refugees. To be successful in life you have to begin with the end result in mind. And that end could be a dream, a vision or a passion that you wish to achieve. Believe in your dream and with determination and perseverance, that dream can be achieved regardless of hardship and difficulties. Our end goal is to have 1000 branches around the globe by 2020. I know I will achieve this goal.  A passionate heart can achieve anything”. 

LookSmart Alterations also celebrated the recent award received by the Franchise Council of Australia. LookSmart Alterations CEO, Ray Bryant was honoured with the prestigious 2010 Franchise Executive of the Year Award at the Excellence in Franchising Awards Gala Dinner on the Gold Coast in October. The 2010 Franchise Executive of the Year award recognises excellence in leadership of a franchise system.

Since taking the helm at LookSmart Alterations in 2006 as the company's CEO, Ray Bryant has grown the business from 36 stores to 91 stores, tripled turnover and has taken the business' reach to an international level.

Mr Bryant accepted his award humbly, "In 2006 I joined this industry and it started a regeneration of my career. It has been an exciting discipline from that time on. This award is for the team. The award is the result of the team effort that has been provided by the National Support Office and our network of franchisees. Further, our founder Abraham Hatoum has been the inspiration behind our business. Thank you Abraham".

Ray Bryant is greatly admired by his team for his endless dedication to growing the business intelligently and strategically, mentoring his team and developing the franchisee network across Australia and internationally.
